Jesus drew people to the truth with signs and wonders; and the feeding of the 5000 was one of His greatest miracles.  He fed the people physical bread; and later, He skillfully used that miracle to teach them about the bread of eternal life.  We must study and follow in the soul-winning steps of Jesus.
